| All the mainstays of proper Aussie "tucker," as they call their singular cuisine, are here, including sausage rolls, meat pies, lamingtons and Pavlova. Breakfast is offered all day (try the quiches), along with fish ‘n’ chips and burgers. Steak pies, cheese 'n' onion pie and a vegetable or Cornish pasty keep good mates from feeling too deprived. American-style sandwiches and an Outback meat pie made with chicken and Monterey Jack cheese vary the offerings. Despite the name, the Down Under Special is pretty much a roast beef sandwich on wheat bread, with touches of tomato chutney for extra kick. Aussie groceries also are on offer. No alcohol is served, but with that lamington, you'll want a good cup 'o tea. |
