 Avenue Ale House Restaurant Review: Dark wood and stone dominate the masculine interior, which features doors that open to reveal breezes from Oak Park Avenue. The neighborhood crowd is welcoming, and the food beyond average. The onion loaf? It’s a thing of great worth. Among salads, the chopped number with blue cheese, bacon, grilled chicken, avocado --- the kitchen sink, really --- stands out. Burgers are a fine follow-up, especially the version topped with Gouda and served with an onion au jus. Snag a seat on the rooftop deck if you can. |
