39 Rue de Jean Restaurant Review:

Located in the booming Upper King Street area, 39 Rue provides a bustling (and noisy) brasserie’s atmosphere. Tender, plump mussels can be had in a small or large portion topped with one of six sauces, including the consistently good pistou. The pommes frites are always crisp and hot, nice to snack on. Steaks are juicy and flavorful, including the butcher’s steak. Each night there is a plats du jour. If you go on Saturday, you can find one of the few cassoulets prepared in town. The charcuterie is a good bet with savory, house-made pâtés. The hazelnut vinaigrette-dressed frisée lyonnaise topped with a poached egg is a winner. And yes, they do serve sushi.
