THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED American Cut Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant & décor: Restaurateur Marc Forgione opened an outpost of his beloved New York steakhouse at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta. The multi-level dining experience includes a lower level bar area and a second level 102-seat dining room with two private rooms. The Regents Cocktail Club is a 5,000-square-foot, 75-seat indoor/outdoor rooftop terrace and bar whose striking views of the skyline are mesmerizing. The club-like main dining room shimmers as it’s festooned with light fixtures.

Food & Drinks: New Jersey-born executive chef John Adamson had moved to Atlanta four years before the restaurant debuted, so he incorporates some of the Southern flavors that he discovered upon relocating. Georgia Vidalias make delicious onion rings, and the mac 'n' cheese is made with pimiento cheese. Tableside preparations include the big steaks and the Caesar salad, which incorporates the traditional soft egg. Order a steak with specificity as to doneness, and that's how you'll get it. Seafood, veal, lamb, a sweet tea-brined pork chop and poultry options are also on the menu. Get the creamy sunchoke spinach as a side. Apple pie cobbler and sweet potato cheesecake, two of several sweet enders, stick with the Southern theme. The extensive wine list covers a wide range of wine-producing regions and has many large format bottles for group splurges. Check out happy hour with specially priced drinks, nibbles, and $1 and $2 oysters Monday through Friday from 4 p.m.-7 p.m.
