Named for Steve Wynn’s wife Andrea Hissom, Andrea's at Encore Las Vegas displays an oversize depiction of her eyes prominently above the bar. Awash in cream, cognac, pearl and gold hues, the dining room has Venetian glass teardrop light fixtures, sleek couch-like seats, semi-private dining booths and a terrace overlooking Surrender Nightclub. The menu is largely Asian, but with favorites you’d expect in a fine dining steakhouse, such as the 16-ounce, sliced Prime New York strip enlivened with a wasabi demi-glace, and diver sea scallops with pork belly, tomato, frisée and eggplant purée. Start with the addictive shishito peppers tossed in mustard miso. Among the several sushi rolls offered is the unique cucumber roll that contains no rice; tuna, yellowtail, salmon, king crab, eel sauce and avocado are wrapped in cucumber. As in all Wynn property restaurants, a vegan menu is available. Finish with the “Chocolate and Coffee” --- milk chocolate mousse, fudge brownie, a Thai coffee ice cream bar and candied almonds; or a selection of eight exotic ice creams, including banana crunch, chocolate chili, honey pistachio and yuzu sour. While 220 wines and 15 sakés are listed, special requests can be quickly obtained from the Wynn’s vast cellar collection.
