THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Angeli On Decatur Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: Angeli sits on one of the busiest corners in the French Quarter, surrounded by galleries and antiques shops and just a few steps from the famous New Orleans flea market. Old tile-and-wood floors, weathered columns and movies projected onto the patina-covered wall behind the bar contribute to the funky ambience. Abetting the atmosphere is the clientele of area residents, tourists and bar-hoppers.

Likes: Funky atmosphere.
Dislikes: Wine selection.

Food & Drinks: Generously portioned appetizers (try the Divine Portabella with grilled chicken), gyros and chicken pizzas drive the menu. Bread baked in-house elevates the sandwiches above the ordinary, no matter what the filling. Angeli does not offer much in the way of wines (one red and one white), but the full bar is nicely stocked. Look for a surprisingly first-rate tiramisu for dessert, but our favorite is the turtle cheesecake. Delivery is available in the French Quarter and to the Faubourg Marigny during varying hours.
