About the restaurant: Anchoring the northern edge of Lincoln Square, Artango Bar & Steakhouse summons the sexy, clandestine vibe of Buenos Aires. Live music and tango dance are focal points thanks to a central stage --- think European cabaret singers bedazzled in gowns and boas, guitarists and Latin jazz ensembles playing to the neighborhood crowd. The restaurant makes use of its wide space while still being intimate due to low lighting, two-tops interspersed with larger tables and Argentinean-themed artwork.

Food & Drinks: Meat is an imperative. Asados are generous for sharing, with various versions of juicy short ribs, flank steak, sirloin and sausage plated with Malbec sauce and spicy chimichurri. Sides, from fried potatoes to charred Brussels sprouts, are sized just large enough not to overwhelm the main courses. Hunky shrimp ceviche is the standout in a trio sampler that also includes tuna and red snapper. Too much lime takes away from the other fish. A smooth flan infused in cardamom and cinnamon, dulce de leche cream and almond crispy meringue is the perfect finale. The wine list naturally favors Malbec (the Vistalba Cortez B is our choice for its peppery, velvety body), but specialty cocktails are worthy, too.
