Asakusa Restaurant Review:

Low prices, good food, sociable customers and a warm welcome: what more can you ask of an authentic Japanese restaurant? Décor? It's best forgotten. But, if you can't read the seasonal items on the wall posters, you can enjoy the calligraphy. The menu is long with something for every taste, from sushi to familiar dishes and rarer delights like tender cuttlefish tempura; kazunoko (diced herring roe in savoury broth); duck with satoimo (taro with ginger in a concentrated sauce); and sunomono (the Japanese equivalent of a ceviche) of "sardines" as small as whitebait.
