Owners Mark Allen and Neville Steel were childhood mates and competitors in bakery and pastry at William Angliss, Melbourne. Their baked goods include sausage rolls, spot-on meat pies (also available in a cocktail size), lamingtons, Pavlova and apple slices. There are also steak pie and cheese and onion pie; Cornish pasties join their cousin, the vegetable pasty, to offer additional options. American-style sandwiches on house-made bread depart slightly from the authenticity that’s so key here. Selected Aussie grocery items include tomato sauce to go with those sausage rolls.
