Aziza Restaurant Review:

Mention Aziza in San Francisco company and you're likely to hear quiet murmurs of deep approval for chef Mourad Lahlou. After a hiatus, the Geary Street restaurant has returned as a more casual neighborhood restaurant. Without showmanship or pretense, chef Lahlou imbues each dish here with soul, using only premium ingredients and textures and spices so masterfully layered they unfold like exotic stories in the mouth. Light salads are composed of seasonal produce and fruits, nuts, fresh cheeses and flavorful vinaigrettes. Larger plates range from whole dorade with squash, saffron, smoked fumet and Swiss chard to chicken roulade with stewed onions, crispy potatoes, cracked green olives and preserved lemon.
