Bacchus of Lebanon Restaurant Review:

Bacchus Bethesda and its sister restaurant in DC are no more, but the magic of the original menu and cooking remains. How can this be? A different owner took over the property, upgraded the décor, renamed the restaurant, and hung onto the extensive selection of dishes. A silky-smooth hummus has a texture that resembles heavy cream, and is topped with chopped onions, tomatoes and parsley. With it comes a tray of warm, tender pita. In addition, you can make an entire meal from the hot and cold appetizers. Entrées span such dishes as the expected kebabs of lamb, chicken and fish to unfamiliar preparations like fattet makdous (cooked ground beef and eggplant layered on deep-fried bread and slathered with yogurt and pomegranate sauce). For dessert, be sure to order the orange-scented pudding, as addictive as the main courses; alternatively, consider the baklava and unusual knafeh, a Lebanese pastry finished with syrup.
