THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bang! Restaurant Review:

It may be small in stature, but this colorful comfort food spot in the hip Highland neighborhood delivers big, bold flavors of American favorites festooned with Southern twists. The walls are chockablock with local artwork, most of it for sale, and the cozy space, which is divided into two separate dining rooms, is always packed with trendy neighborhood couples and families. The compact menu, which changes on a whim, peddles small plates of goat cheese and potato croquettes; toasted sweet potato bread; and flash-fried calamari. Main dishes include moist meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy and grilled pork loin crowned with roasted poblano cream and accompanied by corn pudding and asparagus. Desserts, like chocolate pecan pie and peach cobbler, are satisfying. The globally-influenced wine list won’t win any awards, but budget-conscious sippers will appreciate the bottle prices, most of which ring in at under $25.
