THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Billy's Deli Restaurant Review:

Glendale may be better known for falafel and kebabs than for blintzes, but this authentic and little-known New York-style deli puts the city on the map for lovers of chopped liver, kreplach or corned beef sandwiches smothered with Russian dressing. Billy's isn't much to look at and the service can be a bit brusque at times (we said it was authentic), but the food is more than reliable, and the bakery turns out passable challah, cheesecake and coffee cake. We've been impressed with the matzoh ball soup, more highly seasoned than many renditions. Sandwiches are generously sized, but more manageable than the obscenely large portions you'll find at other delis. Standards such as the brisket and pastrami are consistently satisfying, and prices are noticeably smaller than those at more celebrated establishments. For those wishing to explore beyond the trusted deli specialties, the kitchen turns out a roasted turkey dinner plate, meatloaf and chicken Cordon Bleu, with varying results.
