Bistro Vendôme Restaurant Review:

Well-heeled Sutton Place locals flock to this warm French bistro for traditionally prepared and classically presented fare. The charming multi-level townhouse exterior reveals a subtly elegant and airy, wood-dominant interior that’s marked by soft beige, cream, mauve and similar hues. The menu features mainstay starters such as escargots sizzling in garlic and parsley butter, and a creamy, homemade chicken liver pâté. Dijon mustard dressing and Parmesan add a touch of zest and savoriness to a cold artichoke salad, while hollandaise sauce gives warm jumbo white asparagus a measure of richness. Entrées include tender frogs’ legs sautéed in a garlic cream sauce, accompanied by vegetables; crispy duck confit in a truffle jus, served with Lyonnaise potatoes, can be found among the seasonal selections. Desserts highlight fruity creations like a warm apple tart à la mode and a baked raspberry gratin. The wine list is characterized by whites, reds and rosés that are predominantly from Burgundy, Bordeaux, Provence and other French regions.
