Developers and preservationists continue to fight over the fate of the landmark Century Plaza hotel, but in the meantime, Breeze continues to be one of the most desirable spots in Century City to dine. The Stephen Francis Jones-designed room is a comfortable place for any occasion, from a lonely breakfast on the patio to a romantic dinner in a curvy booth. Breeze's farm-to-table menu offers an attractively balanced selection of entrées: roasted California sea bass in a spicy ginger-carrot sauce, truffle-scented mushroom risotto, or peppercorn-crusted filet with a port wine reduction. Albacore crudo, roasted garlic and tomato tart, and green papaya shrimp salad are among the preliminaries. The wine list is wide-ranging, and you can follow your mood when it comes to desserts, with items like an orange and pistachio cake or pomegranate and pear crumble. A sushi bar provides a Japanese accent. There's also a vegan tasting menu --- something you’re likely to find only at an L.A. hotel.
