THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Brexi Brasserie Restaurant Review:

With Brexi, Craig and Samantha Cordts-Pearce --- who also own The Wild Fig, Steak House No. 316 and CP Burger --- created just the setting to reflect Aspen's glitz and glamour. The lovely dining room, bedecked with Art Deco-style black-and-white floors, clustered crystal chandeliers, a marble fireplace and tufted red banquettes, looks every bit the part of Pastis or Balthazar. But how does the food stack up? It's hit or miss, frankly: the charcuterie platter might be generous in quantity but woefully underwhelming in quality and taste; the frites might be overcooked and the steak undercooked. On the upside, the French onion soup unleashes a rich, hearty broth swelled with soft onions. We also recommend the burger, topped with smoked bacon, caramelized shallots, Emmental and Russian dressing. Each evening features a plat du jour, the best of which is the coq au vin offered on Monday. The wine list is rather impressive, with prices to match; the beer selection, however, is oh-la-hum rather than oh-la-la. Since a brasserie is, by definition, an inexpensive beer bar, this seems backwards.
