THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Brisbi's Lakefront Restaurant & Bar Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: If the hustle and bustle of city dining is not your preference, the lakefront area of nearby Lake Pontchartrain is a soothing alternative. Brisbi’s cavernous space offers indoor and outdoor seating, elevated high above the lake where you can actually watch the considerable boat traffic below.

Likes: Crab cakes with house-made rémoulade sauce.
Dislikes: Noise level.

Food & Drinks: The menu is typical of traditional New Orleans seafood houses --- five types of fresh fish daily, fried seafood, fresh oysters, Gulf shrimp, fried green tomatoes, plump crab cakes, generously portioned salads and lots of cold beer on tap. If you pass up the crawfish mac and cheese, one could say you wasted your trip. The wine list is brief, but impressive. Picture a Sonoma Cutrer “Russian River” Chardonnay with a generously portioned, ideally seasoned barbecued shrimp po’ boy. And as long as you’ve settled on a fully self-indulgent meal, go all the way with the chocolate lava cake for dessert. Brisbi’s has one of the most popular daily happy hours in town, possibly because of 75 cent raw oysters, $5 shrimp cocktails and reduced-price cocktails.
