Bukharaa Indian Restaurant Restaurant Review:

Since 2009, Bukharaa has brought authentic Punjabi fare to Atlanta's most northern 'burbs. Ensconced in a suburban grocery store-dominated mall, the restaurant may suffer from a lack of exterior authenticity, but within an inviting space seems right and occupies a quiet if huge footprint. There are a couple of Indian beers to get you started, but we suggest the delectable mango lassi. Begin dinner with a soup or an appetizer of eggplant (baingan ka bharta) cooked over an open flame, then mixed with tomatoes, onions, herbs and spices. The resulting dish melds the eggplant with the enhancing vegetables in a most comforting way. The ubiquitous chicken 65 here is not battered, making it lighter and more operational as an appetizer than at many Indian establishments. Rogan Josh, a classical selection, presents fork-tender cubes of lamb in a thick sauce. Diners may select the spice level with all dishes. Shrimp tikka masala is impeccably cooked, leaving the shrimp sweet and succulent. For dessert, choose the cheese dumplings in a cardamom-scented milky sauce.
