Chef Michael White deviates from his usual Italian formula with this kitschy supper club in TriBeCa. The menu sticks to American classics, particularly of the comfort food variety, so it’s hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. Rueben fritters, like fried bites of the Jewish deli classic, and creamy deviled eggs are great starters. Mains include a filling (though somewhat greasy) portion of fried chicken. A better option might be the wild mushroom grilled cheese or eight-ounce strip steak with thick, crispy fries that threaten to steal the show. Finish off with a brownie sundae or order another creative cocktail; we suggest the highball made with the restaurant’s homemade smoked cola.
