Café Campagne Restaurant Review:

Stroll down Post Alley, steps from the hubbub of Pike Place Market, and discover this lovely bistro. Wooden tables and distressed amber-colored walls adorned with vintage French advertising posters set the scene. There's a softly lit bar with seating for a coterie of regulars. But this place reigns as one of our favorite venues for dining solo. Couples may snuggle into a corner banquette, listen to Piaf, and share a split of Champagne. Order the red wine-braised chicken, steamed mussels, or strip steak dressed with a richly flavored garlic-Madeira sauce and paired with frites. For a sweet finish, dip a spoon into the crème brûlée topped with a pistachio cookie. The wine list offers Northwest and French selections, plus there are additional libations poured at the full bar. If you chance upon a sunny day, dine outside in the small sidewalk patio area.
