Chef Liu’s extensive menu wanders through a wide assortment of unusual fare and then brings it forth in quantities that only a starving student could polish off. For starters, share a bamboo steamer of pork-stuffed steamed buns. Or a leek pie with the flaky pastry enclosing bright green buttery slivers of green leek. We were intrigued by the "peanuts in old vinegar": cold noodles topped with a sesame sauce and a crunchy offset of cucumbers. Lamb skewers provide a duo for just $4; we also like the cumin lamb with its generous application of cilantro --- stems and all. A menu standout, da lu mein is a whopping bowlful of thick noodles, pork, broth and additional goodies. Other than hot tea, you'll maybe want a beer with this fare. There are no sweet dishes, so savor the orange wedges that will be brought to the table with the bill.
