THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Chianina Steakhouse Restaurant Review:

Chianina Steakhouse is named after the Italian breed of cattle originally used for bistecca alla fiorentina. This upscale boutique steakhouse is a venture of Michael's Restaurant Group, which operates Michael's on Naples Ristorante two blocks away as well as two Michael's Pizzeria locations. Comfortable seating at the bar greets guests for creative cocktails, a simplified bar menu or full menu should they choose. The dining room is dim, but targeted lighting ensures that the tables and booths are not in shadow. Recording studio soundproofing materials on the walls and ceiling afford diners some peace and quiet. (Request the corner alcove booth for extra privacy.) Thoughtful touches like these, along with effective service, contribute to a pleasant experience. An effort is made to source ingredients, such as salad greens from Farm Lot 59, an organic farm in nearby Signal Hill. Starters include crispy pork belly, roasted bone marrow and a variety of oysters. The restaurant teamed up with a domestic rancher to raise its own Chianina herd, which provides an exclusive source for this high-quality beef. In addition, Piedmontese and Prime steaks are offered with various sauces. The bone-in rib-eye is a particularly fine choice; pair it with the Yukon gratin and mushrooms with thyme. Don't miss out on the banana pudding with macadamia nut crumble. The wine list has a "Wine-O-Matic" section featuring several selections available in two-, four- or six-ounce servings.
