THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Co-Op Food & Drink Restaurant Review:

On the ground floor of the Hotel on Rivington, in the space that was long occupied by the restaurant THOR, Co-Op has managed to find a nice balance between being scene-y and turning out quite good food at the same time. It’s a bonus that the high-ceilinged room is covered with intriguing portraiture photographs of New York icons by EJ Camp. The Japanese-American menu offers something for everyone, from yellowtail tacos enhanced with toasted nori and pickled shallots to beef sliders, spiked with a bit of unctuous pork belly. Meanwhile, the ginger fried chicken and the bacon-infused shrimp and grits are memorable takes on Southern fare. There’s a slew of house cocktails and a long list of wines from around the globe.
