THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Colicchio & Sons Restaurant Review:

Tom Colicchio's eponymous eatery, set in the former Craftsteak space near Chelsea Market, is a versatile venue that can deliver a multi-course menu or a more casual (but still elevated) repast of pizza and beer. (For the latter, head to the Tap Room, the more democratic arm of the restaurant.) The main dining room features high ceilings and sprays of flowering greenery that allude to the importance of seasonality in the cuisine. Greenmarket finds inspire the menu, which is overseen by executive chef James Tracey and chef de cuisine Luke Bergman. Guests can order à la carte or select the four-course menu ($69, with wine pairings an additional $50) or seven-course "Tom's Classics" ($120, with wine pairings an additional $70). Meals begin with amuse-bouches and warm Parker House dinner rolls. A starter of layers of shaved foie gras finds its foil with rhubarb and candied walnuts. Loup de mer with English peas, Manila clams and green almonds might be followed by lamb loin with green chickpeas and caramelized yogurt. Carrot cake torte and a honey pine nut tart are among the temptations for dessert. Corkage is complimentary on Sundays, but don't neglect the wine list curated by beverage director Ryan Mills-Knapp. Also available are specialty brews like cask-aged vintage ale and gluten-free beer, as well as variations of classic cocktails.
