About the restaurant & décor: Centrally located on Costa Mesa’s ever-thriving 17th Street, this venue is housed in an old A-framed dance hall that’s been standing since the 1950s. The interior captures the essence of days gone by, yet its smart arrangement of dark woods, elegant lighting, sportsman-themed décor and massive L-shaped bar adds a decided dose of vibrancy to its vintage bones.

Food & Drinks: The venue's contemporary American menu tempers layered flavors with nuanced flair. Start things off with a killer craft cocktail and an order of Spanish octopus with crispy potato and preserved lemon or the pan-roasted wild mushrooms with garlic and slow egg. There’s a solid list of contemporary mains to choose from; we enjoy the white sea bass with spinach gnocchetti and the charred rib-eye with cipollinis and confit tomatoes. Saving room at meal’s end for the caramelized white chocolate bread pudding is essential. The wine list is compact, but loaded with California heavyweights. Late at night, the dining space is converted to a floor for after-dinner dancing. On weekends, guests can indulge in brunch items like brioche french toast and hanger steak and eggs.
