THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED DeepWood Restaurant Review:

DeepWood takes its name from the road where owner Amber Herron grew up in Easton, Connecticut. Two concepts in one, the venue offers a front room (DW Tavern) designed as a neighborhood gathering place that features casual cuisine. The back room is more formal. The menu offers diverse choices such as rabbit, lamb, seafood and steak. Slow-poached Maine lobster is a winner, with lobster grits, mustard greens and a sweet curry ginger cream. The cocoa-rubbed venison loin is every bit as appetizing, paired with herb spätzle gratin, poached pear and a mulled wine reduction. For dessert, savor the dulce de leche panna cotta with cinnamon donut holes. On the first Saturday of every month, DeepWood offers a $25 three-course tasting menu. Stop by the DW Tavern from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday for retail priced beer and wine, $4 martinis, single malt scotch samplers, and the tavern small taste menu (try the house-made ramen noodles with soft cooked egg).
