THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Doggy Dogg Restaurant Review:

Available for parties, James Hammerl’s hot dog push cart still operates at Grant Park Farmers Market on Sunday and at Emory Farmers Market on Tuesday, as well as at other locations. But this humble cinder-block structure is home base. A small table and a pair of chairs provide some refuge within in bad weather, and there's seating under faux-thatch umbrellas at a couple of tables on the light-ringed patio. Hammerl’s hot dogs and bratwurst can come with organic sauerkraut, spicy mustard, relish and pickled onions, and some condiments (e.g., the pimento cheese) are house-made, although we think that’s a disservice to both components. Hot dog buns, including very good, substantial gluten-free buns that are grilled to give them extra texture, are the work of Decatur's Ratio Bakeshop. Local producer Pigman Goods provides the hot dogs, while the excellent mettwursts (brats) are from nearby Pine Street Market. A hot dog will set you back between five and eight bucks, but it's money well spent. There's a veggie option as well. And you can get a beer or a locally made soda. Satisfy those late-night cravings (until midnight) on Fridays and Saturdays.
