THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Ecco Pizzeria & Bar Restaurant Review:

Tucked into the corner of Costa Mesa’s eco-themed complex The Camp, this Italian restaurant has a mellow atmosphere that works well in its tightly packed surroundings. Rich woods, exposed brick and muted colors lend a familiar feel, and the placid vibe creates an interesting juxtaposition to the restaurant's seasonal cuisine. Starters such as the burrata in aged balsamic and the calamari fries set the menu’s tone, which is furthered by a chopped salad with garbanzo beans and salami. Pizzas stretch the boundaries of tradition, with crème fraîche, basil pesto and prosciutto gracing some of the wood-fired Neapolitan-style pies. Pastas such as pappardelle bolognese and ricotta gnocchi provide plenty of Italian-style comfort. Be sure to save room for the butterscotch budino with sea salt. The wine list offers a respectable selection of Italian and domestic whites and reds. On weekends, guests can enjoy brunch built on traditional offerings and progressive plates like polenta biscuits and gravy. Ecco has sister locations in Irvine and Anaheim.
