The Edmon Restaurant Review:

The 1920s-themed Edmon in the Hollywood Historic Hotel injects a bit of Art Deco glamour into the dustier side of Melrose Avenue with a swank dining room and luxe bar. Beneath chandeliers and dark wood, diners enjoy elegant, sophisticated American dishes, making this a destination for Eastside dining. Brûléed oysters with crispy shallots and fresh thyme are an ideal start, or you may consider a lovely bite of cold smoked hamachi nestled in black rice with a curried quail egg. For mains, look to the savory plate of braised short rib with squash pupusita, roasted palm hearts and tomatillos. Rack of wild boar, skillfully cooked, comes with earthy foraged wild mushrooms and nokedli dumplings in paprikash sauce. Don’t miss the bread pudding with a toasted honey merengue and white chocolate, made to order in a small skillet. Be sure to browse the compelling updated classic cocktail list --- one highlight is a shimmering gimlet fragrant with yuzu bitters and rose mist. The long white marble bar offers its own chic scene on weekends. An evolving wine list features interesting and more obscure boutique and biodynamic picks, not least some delightful dessert wines and bubbles.
