El Centro D.F.’s DC location in the heart of Georgetown is a captivating and accessible destination for taco-loving tourists and local residents. What’s more, like its sister restaurant on 14th Street, patrons can watch guacamole made tableside and enjoy countless sips of various tequilas and many margarita variations, such as watermelon infusions in summer. There is also a short but decent wine list. Patrons may discover that a particular Mexican style of cooking is being celebrated, perhaps the dishes typical to Guadalajara. But in general, diners can partake of street tacos and the standout chef’s specials, including the classic chile relleno and the pork carnitas served with habanero salsa. Among desserts are delicate churros with caramel and chocolate dipping sauces and the banana tres leches cake.
