El Comedor at El Quinto Pino Restaurant Review:

El Quinto Pino, the very good tapas spot in Chelsea, is a walk-in-closet of a restaurant, which has always given it a certain charm. But in autumn 2013 chef Alex Raij and her partner Eder Montero opened up a dining room in an adjacent space (it used to be a loft apartment), furnished it with a combination of earthy and kitschy elements, and named it El Comedor, The Dining Room. The restaurant, connected to El Quinto Pino via a hallway (they also share a kitchen), serves up satisfying dishes like sea anemone in a soft scrambled egg, a dish popular in Andalusia. The menu also rotates around Spain every month, offering new dishes from that month’s chosen region. Specialty cocktails, many spiked with Spanish sherry, help to wash it all down.
