THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Elephant Bar Restaurant Review:

American cuisine, with touches of regional favorites from around the world, is turned out in the open kitchen of this vibrant restaurant. Its safari theme is carried out with leopard-patterned carpets and bamboo, along with framed scenes of Africa and its wild animals adorning the walls. We like the wok-fired chopped chicken, water chestnuts and toasted coconut flakes in lettuce leaves; and soy-ginger calamari steaks with Asian slaw, sesame seeds and Asian dipping sauce. A Moroccan shrimp salad contains spiced honey apricots, toasted coconut flakes, charred green onions, red bell peppers, mixed greens and a honey citrus dressing. Blackened mahi mahi is served with mango beurre blanc, mango salsa, rice with andouille sausage and sautéed vegetables. St. Louis-style barbecued pork ribs are double basted with tropical Kona barbecue sauce and caramelized apples. Among desserts are a hot apple-blueberry cobbler with walnut butter streusel and vanilla ice cream. A daily happy hour, from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. and 9 p.m.-close, offers $2 discounts on appetizers and $1-$2 off beers and wines by the glass.
