Ernie's Bar & Grill Restaurant Review:

Ernie’s is part of the La Quinta Resort (though it’s geographically far from the compound), so it’s held to the high standards that is the hallmark of the legendary retreat. Touted as the unofficial 19th hole of the Nicklaus Tournament Courses and TPC Stadium, Ernie’s is a great stop for breakfast, lunch or an early dinner (the kitchen typically wraps things up by 7:30 p.m.). Nice wines, craft beer and creative spirits pair well with the pub fare. A meal might begin with a hearty 2-pound order of brined drummets with house-made buffalo sauce and cool blue cheese dipping sauce on the side. Other signature dishes include flatbreads as well as the pastrami Rueben. The summer farmers salad is reminiscent of the popular caprese but with added cucumber giving it a more distinctive flavor. Diners can sit at the bar or at any number of booths, tables and high-tops. Flat-screen TVs offer an entertainment option for non-golfers. Beyond the glass wall is a living room-style patio. During the day, the space is cooled by sun shades. Come evening, it’s warmed by a pair of gas fire pits.
