THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Farm Artisan Food Restaurant Review:

After winning over the Inland Empire with his fresh seasonal fare, Italian-born chef-owner Roberto Argentina moved his restaurant from its original basement location to a more stylish environment around the corner in downtown Redlands. A delightful discovery, Farm Artisan Food utilizes produce that Argentina grows himself, as well as meats sourced from Niman Ranch. Dishes are prepared with very little fuss, but the results are generally satisfying. Starters include braised rabbit leg over pappardelle, sautéed mushrooms with Brie, and seared scallops in a cauliflower and saffron sauce. Among entrées, one can find roast duck breast atop polenta, and halibut stew with sunflower pesto. Desserts include fresh strawberry tart and rosemary walnut cake with butter cream. The predominantly California wine list is short but well-conceived, and prices are extremely reasonable; the staff often offers complimentary tastings --- a very agreeable practice. Argentina has really hit his stride and regularly features wine dinners, vegan dinners and tasting menus that elevate the state of cuisine in the IE.
