Fidel's Restaurant Review:

In the 1960s, Fidel Montanez started serving tacos at his barber shop in Eden Gardens. It evolved into a family-owned cantina. The ample portions and tasty margaritas do not disappoint. The sprawling restaurant sports many different ambiences, from the taco bar and colorful dining rooms to two heated patios, ideal for large groups. Mariachis in full regalia stroll through the eatery, lending musical cheer to the festive scene. We like the chicken and rice soup with cilantro, onions and avocado. Chile rellenos are another favorite. Standards like enchiladas, carne asada, carnitas, tacos, tamales and tostados all satisfy. Wrap up the evening with homemade flan or Mexican hot chocolate while you enjoy the live music that transports you south of the border. Service may be haphazard, but the waitstaff is friendly. Fidel's is open every day of the year except Thanksgiving and Christmas.
