THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Firefly Bistro Restaurant Review:

Monique King and husband Paul Rosenbluh, both seasoned chefs, are behind Firefly Bistro, a South Pasadena favorite situated in an exclusively outdoor space. Rosenbluh has worked at Granita, Campanile and Joe's, and incorporates something from all of those experiences into his eclectic New American cuisine. Begin with spicy butternut squash “doughnuts” with curry dip or Chinese hot and sour soup with roasted pork, preserved lily buds, black mushrooms and scallion-red chili oil. Entrées include pecan-crusted catfish; Portuguese chicken breast with sautéed chorizo, olives and tomato over sherry roasted potatoes; and grilled natural flat-iron with country gratin potatoes, house-made bacon, green beans and rosemary jus. Linger over desserts like deep-fried strawberry rhubarb pie and chocolate hazelnut cake. The restaurant also offers an interesting, affordable wine list.
