THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Fonda Restaurant Review:

An outpost of the popular Brooklyn restaurant, Fonda is a 60-seat venue for slightly upscale Mexican cuisine and decent cocktails. Order a tamarind margarita or a spicy michelada while perusing the menu. The guacamole is passable as a starter, but we also like the refreshing watermelon and cucumber salad, bathed in olive oil. Hearty and satisfying entrées include the classic chicken mole enchiladas, shrimp and scallop enchiladas, and the pollo norteno, a skillet filled with chicken, cured onions and peppers accompanied by tortillas and beans. Finish with the chocolate pudding that doesn’t necessarily sound Mexican, but the flavors are there: the tequila-whipped cream and sugared pecans give the dish a nice kick.
