Fresca Restaurant Review:

This Peruvian restaurant has an exhibition kitchen and two bars: one for drinks, and one with more than eight preparations of ceviche. Most ceviches feature a noticeable kick of rocoto chili pepper, an especially satisfying counterpoint to the sweetness of the mango and shrimp combination. Typical of Peruvian cooking, the menu winks at Asian cuisine, seen in the use of yuzu juice, soy sauce and wakame. For an appetizer, we recommend the potato croquettes stuffed with beef tenderloin and finished with a red wine-miso glaze. Entrées are generously portioned and fall into the realm of comfort food, as in the stew of chicken, potatoes, hard-boiled egg and walnuts with an aji amarillo cream sauce. Save room for the mango cannelloni filled with chilled rice pudding, paired with honey gelée. We also like the unusual balsamic strawberry margarita. Service can be hurried and the noise level borders on deafening, but that's partly because everyone’s having a good time.
