Fusco's Via Roma Italian Trattoria Restaurant Review:

Occupying one of several restored early 20th-century storefronts in this suburban Atlanta antebellum town, the restaurant offers a romantic ambience that takes advantage of historic elements, warm lighting and lots of booth seating perfect for couples. There’s a small, intimate front patio as well. Coming largely from Sicily and Calabria via Brooklyn, the Fusco family's culinary traditions derive additional inspiration from America's Little Italy and the real Rome. Chef David Fusco does a good job with crisply fried sweet calamari with traditional marinara sauce and lemon. Start with a cup of the daily soup or one of the other appetizers, which are designed for sharing. Familiar fare includes sausage and peppers on a hoagie roll, and expect a few pizzas. We enjoy the duck breast, served pink, with a side of polenta; its particular adornments will change daily. For winemaker dinners and in his specials, chef Fusco gets friskier, turning out such dishes as osso buco or a risotto of pork cheek cooked with local apple grower Mercier's hard cider. House-made vanilla bean gelato is a dessert winner. Fusco's wine list mingles Italian choices with options from other wine-growing regions, with many good selections priced at or under $30 a bottle. A list of higher priced Italian classics also is available.
