Gallagher's Steak House Restaurant Review:

A wall of dry-aging steaks greets diners at this refreshed speakeasy-turned-steakhouse in the Theater District. Photos of famous New Yorkers adorn the walls and white tablecloths top the tables in the classed-up restaurant that dates from 1927. Most people come for the steaks, grilled over hickory coals in the sparkling open kitchen. But the roast prime rib and lamb chops are good choices, too, and the veal chop Parmigiana is satisfying (as well as mammoth). Seafood fans will rejoice at the raw bar and crudo selections that complement the salmon steak and jumbo crab cake entrées. All is served on a traditional trolley by the seasoned waitstaff. Side dishes, made up of all the standards, are buttery enough for steakhouse regulars. Order a soufflé at the beginning of your meal --- flavors change but the result is a constant delight. The wine list is extensive.
