Gaucho Piccadilly Restaurant Review:
The expansion of the Gaucho chain was rapid and successful, but this outpost, the flagship, ups the ante. For a start, it occupies four floors with a ground floor wine bar and specialist wine shop, and three levels of restaurants. If you haven't been to a Gaucho before, then the cow skin wallpaper and pouffes come as a surprise, but after that most people enter into the Argentinean spirit. Steaks are really topnotch, guaranteed to satisfy the fussiest beef eater. Other tastes are catered to with a range of homemade specialist sausages, lobster and seafood platters, pastas and salads. The wine list is first-rate; desserts range from salted dulce de leche cheesecake to lemon curd mousse with Italian meringue, blueberries and pistachios. You wonder if a menu that covers so much can keep up the quality. But don't worry; this is a class chain of restaurants.
