THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Glendon Bar & Kitchen Restaurant Review:

A lot of bars and restaurants offer happy hours that end when many office workers are ready to go out. But The Glendon Bar & Kitchen offers a pair of happy hours daily: from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. and from 10 p.m.-midnight, making it attractive for today’s young, cost-conscious professionals. The high industrial-ceilinged Westwood Village space should also attract plenty of students and pre- and post-moviegoers, while free Saturday evening jazz brings out an older crowd. The menu covers basic American fare, including soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta and pizza, with three burgers and two kinds of french fries served with a choice of six aïolis. For starters, we liked the spicy black bean hummus, while the baked Brie and fig with caramelized onion and garlic honey is fun to share in a sexy, sticky sort of way. Both the refreshing Basil BBQ Chop salad and the intriguing The Marc penne pasta with chicken, Parmesan, tomatoes, basil, almonds and nutmeg are satisfyingly smoky. The wines by the glass list is divided up into “first date,” “second date” and “third date” selections, and there is a “skinny” cocktail menu for calorie-counters. For those who still can’t make happy hour, Stoli martinis are available for just $5.
