The owner of EVELEIGH has crafted another casual dining destination with a distinctive décor. A street-side garage door rolls up allowing light and air inside the throwback 1960s-inspired dining room. Anchoring the interior is a wraparound bar, while a plant-covered wall looks like modern art providing an eye-catching backdrop for those seated outside. Grilled flatbreads can be found at lunch, and a rustic menu of seasonal items often cooked on the wood-burning grill at dinner. Order the aforementioned flatbread immediately to accompany the entire meal --- thin and crusty, and topped with honey, rosemary and ricotta. Grilled squid is tender after being marinated in almond milk and lemon juice and served in a sauce of garlic and chives; grilled baby leeks are as spreadable as butter on Taleggio-covered toast. Homemade tagliatelle is mixed with a light combination of Dungeness crab, tarragon and lemon, and lamb leg has a homey Mediterranean influence, finished with creamy yogurt and herbaceous gremolata. The concise wine list focuses on boutique producers from around the globe.
