Graeter's Restaurant Review:

Graeter's is a beloved fixture in most Cincinnati neighborhoods. Started by a German immigrant in 1870, it's still a family-run business and the ice cream continues to be made by a laborious process. Workers use hand-carved paddles to scrape it from French pots, the earliest ice cream makers manufactured. It's fun to watch someone eat one of the chip flavors, such as black raspberry chocolate chip, for the first time, because nobody can believe the virtual boulders of high-quality chocolate concealed in the ice cream could be that big. And to top it off, Graeter's has seasonal surprises, revealing "mystery flavors" such as cake batter fudge brownie or now-permanent blueberry pie. A Little Less Indulgent flavors have half the sugar and 25 percent fewer calories, and gelati selections include dark chocolate truffle. They'll even box pints and ship them in dry ice for those who get a craving far from home.
