Grey Moss Inn Restaurant Review:

Grey Moss Inn is notable for both its wines and romantic, old stagecoach stop setting. Many engagement diamonds have been brandished under the influence of both. Accordingly, regulars expect a menu as unchanging as anniversaries, while the rest of us may look for something a little less predictable --- maybe the roasted Texas quail stuffed with a house-made chorizo or the “Escargot Belgique,” which adds cheese to the French equation. Both the mequite-grilled lobster tail and the smoked and grilled free-range chicken can keep beef at bay, but if steak is to be the star, we suggest the traditional choice rib-eye basted in “witches brew.” Tradition also triumphs at dessert with Texas pecan pie, made from a recipe that’s more than half a century old. (We suspect the chocolate version came later.) With a wine list as deep as GM’s (it’s especially proud of reds from California and Bordeaux), there may even be a pair for the chocolate-mantled profiteroles.
