Gulliver's Restaurant Restaurant Review:

Gulliver's has a longstanding reputation as a pub and restaurant with 18th-century appeal, a rarity in OC. Located directly across from John Wayne Airport, the place delights the eye with its leaded glass and pewter everywhere. The menu is known for its three cuts of charbroiled prime rib, lobster mashed potatoes, roasted duck, lamb shank, Atlantic king salmon, Châteaubriand and baby-back ribs. Steaks are thick and juicy, and the Yorkshire pudding adds just the right authentic Olde English touch, as do the costumed serving wenches. There are also some contemporary bites to be found, such as crispy pork belly. Desserts are of the classic variety as well, as they range from traditional English trifle to chocolate mousse and crème brûlée. Popular with large parties, the eatery offers an extensive lunch menu, the highlights of which are the open-face prime rib sandwich and the shrimp and crab Louie and ahi salads. The wine list is serviceable enough, with plenty of domestic and international labels and a solid arrangement of wines by the glass.
