THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Hearthstone Kitchen & Cellar Restaurant Review:

The restaurant’s name represents a hearth being the center of a home and a focus on flame. Two large ovens burn pecan wood, with one fired for the appetizers and the other for flatbreads. Classy décor is comprised of reclaimed wood and brick; the bright ambience is enhanced by a high ceiling, open kitchen and large windows looking out on the patio. The expansive space includes a house-made-charcuterie station, an oyster bar, a pizza station, a long mixology bar and comfortable touches like couches and shuffleboard tables. Try the tender charred octopus that is blanched, braised, wood-roasted and served with smoked potatoes and chorizo aïoli. Poached king salmon is an entrée especially worth ordering for the pea purée that accompanies it. The pizza oven fired at 950 degrees bakes flatbreads in 90 seconds, resulting in Neapolitan-style pies with a crust that’s charred and covered with more sauce than cheese. The D.O.C. has buffalo mozzarella, basil and chili. Complementing the fare is a list of craft beers ranging from Ballast Point Sculpin IPA to locally brewed Big Dog’s Red Hydrant Brown Ale. Twenty-five wines are offered by the glass from a list of nearly 100 selections, spanning from Napa, France, Italy, New Zealand, Oregon and Australia. Save room for the dark chocolate birthday cake with sweet and salty frosting --- it arrives with four lit candles and is large enough to feed as many people.
