THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Henri Restaurant Review:

This classy joint is nestled into an historic building, and its name pays homage to architect Louis Henri Sullivan, designer of its façade. Inside, executive chef Chris Gawronski aims to achieve a landmark status of his own. Begin with selections from the biodynamic French and American wine program, sipping and swirling amid crown molding-adorned, hushed confines in an across-from-Millennium Park address. But all that is a mere complement to what’s on the plate: traditional, intricate dishes constructed from local ingredients. Escargots --- buttery and redolent with garlic --- precede ramp ravioli with golden morels in a bright Meyer lemon-ramp matsutake (pine mushroom) broth. It’s a keeper, we think, and worthy of celebration --- well after the cheese course is complete. But don't pass by the elegant desserts: crème brûlée or perhaps the cinnamon-brown butter chiboust that arrives with elaborate components like grapefruit caviar, chai caramel and cara cara orange sorbet. Completing the fine package are well-wrought, lovingly made cocktails and beyond-basic beers.
