Hot Tin Roof Restaurant Review:

The breezy and beautiful restaurant in the Ocean Key Resort & Spa is named after one of Tennessee Williams’ most famous plays, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, in honor of the writer having been a Key West resident at one time. The lounge area has murals and ceiling panels painted by the late Key West artist Jeff Beal complemented with teak woodwork and jeweled palm frond-shaped chandeliers and mahogany floors. Overlooking the harbor and sunset pier is the second floor space with a slate patio. The menu incorporates American regional flavors with Latin and Caribbean influences. Sunday brunch offers bacon cinnamon buns with Bloody Marys and a Cuban Benedict with mojo roasted pork or chicken-fried oyster waffles. Start lunch or dinner with pork empanadas with guava barbecue sauce or mussels in Cajun sofrito. Main plates include caramelized grouper with coconut and poblanos, scallop risotto with tasso ham and Tetilla cheese, and seafood paella. Vanilla malt crème brûlée with caramel is a must to end the day along with a sunset.
