THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Do Hwa Restaurant Review:

For diners accustomed to the relatively low prices at restaurants in Manhattan’s Koreatown (aka K-Town), this West Village restaurant might be a bit of a turn-off. Do Hwa’s prices are higher, which some may attribute to its high-rent location. But while the place doesn’t do anything particularly elaborate with the Korean fare, it does prepare classic dishes quite well. Barbecue, which you can grill at your own table, comes in seafood (shrimp, cod) or meaty varieties (beef, pork belly), all of which can be wrapped with lettuce and smothered in hot sauce. The salmon entrée, ultra tender and braised in a soy and ginger sauce, is a toothsome hit, as is the spicy kimchi and pork soup. For something on the sweet side, the green tea gelato is a nice way to end the meal. Wash it all down with one of the reasonably priced bottles of wine from a wide-ranging selection or a signature cocktail (the spicy pepper margarita is particularly good).
